An armed robbery took place on the 5700 block of Oram Street on Sunday evening, August 12, 2007, at approximately 6:15pm.
According to the victim (whom we will not identify), she was walking her dog west on the north side of Oram Street (the TXU substation side of the street), when a black male approached her and demanded her purse.
After she brushed him off, the assailant pulled out a small weapon, pointed it in her face and pulled the trigger, resulting in a loud gunshot noise - the weapon was apparently a starter pistol.
At the same time, he grabbed the purse and ran off.
Police believe this suspect is the same person who committed an armed robbery at the Tom Thumb at Skillman and Abrams Road earlier in the afternoon.
The gunman was originally identified as a street person, but the victim does not believe this to be the case. He was too clean, too neat, to be a homeless person, in her opinion.
This is the second armed-robbery attempt in the Lower Greenville area in the past month.
On July 22nd, two groups of bar patrons were robbed at gunpoint while walking to Lower Greenville Avenue. The first robbery took place 5800 Prospect @ Matilda and a few minutes later the same assailant robbed someone at 5800 Richmond @ Matilda.
