More RPO coming to Lower Greenville
Sources at City Hall have confirmed three new Resident Parking Only zones in the Lower Greenville area will be approved next week.
Parking surveys were completed before the Labor Day holiday, and all that remains is to verify signatures and mail notices to residents. Sign payments will be submitted immediately, and signs will be installed (we hope) before Texas-OU weekend.
The new RPO zones are located within the BelmontNA, Lower Greenville West NA and Greenland Hills NA.
The BelmontNA is paying all RPO expenses for its residents, including a reimbursement for two hangtags for the first year only - you can buy up to six hangtags each, for $6.50 per hangtag. This money comes from the association's Arcadia Fund. BelmontNA's goal is to bring RPO to all major streets within its boundaries by the end of 2009.
The expense for the RPO zone in the Lower Greenville West NA was paid for by Daily Crime Report and a group of businesses on Lower Greenville. The expense for the RPO zone in the Greenland Hills NA was paid for by a neighborhood business.
The locations of the new RPO streets and businesses will be announced after the signs are installed.
The installation of these new RPO zones will bring the total number of RPO zones in Dallas to 24, of which 13 are in the Lower Greenville area (south of Belmont Avenue).
