When he's not on traffic duty as a Dallas County deputy constable, Leo Armendariz can be found most weekend nights working the door at Encore Ultra Lounge, a new nightclub off Lower Greenville Avenue in Dallas.

Armendariz has a financial stake in the club and helps manage it, according to his attorney.

The club employs as security at least two uniformed deputy constables from Armendariz's precinct, as well as a sheriff's deputy. One of the deputy constables has used his personal car to help keep order – an unmarked, white Ford Crown Victoria equipped with police lights.
