It's showdown time for CityVille

The CityVille Zoning hearing has been postponed until late September 2007

Someone tell the scumbar patrons there is plenty of free parking north of Belmont

A few months ago, the faux-Lower Greenville West NA and LGNA ganged up to fight yet another attempt to remove the restrictive zoning requirements imposed on CityVille Lower Greenville by Mad Maxine nearly three years ago.

The change, which would allow a small restaurant to stay open past - heaven forbid - 4pm is opposed for reasons that only these folks know. BD was at the Plan Commission hearing a few months ago and blogged the comments live from City Hall (something they were not happy to read when they got home).

Dear Mister Mayor ...

The inauguration of a new Mayor and almost half of the City Council has been marked not by fireworks and parades, but by pundits and columnists writing about what they think the new leadership should do, could do, or might not do.

Rather than spout electrons in the hope that someone may read them, BD prefers the direct approach: An open letter to the new mayor.

The party is (almost) over for Lower Greenville scumbars

The Dallas City Council approved amendments to the Dallas City Code which make major and immediate changes to the way Certificates of Occupancy are issued or revoked.

The change impacting Lower Greenville the most is what the City will do when a scumbar refuses to supply information about its alcohol / non-alcohol sales.

NSA Hunt: Missing and inactive on Lower Greenville

Has anyone seen NSA [Not So Angelic] Hunt or her so-called Lower Greenville Tsk-Tsk-Tsk Force doing the enforcement thing on Lower Greenville recently???

Yeah, me neither.

Don't hold your breath expecting anything to happen soon when it comes to bar audits, parking or noise.

In response to a number of Open Record Requests submitted by BD for copies of the bar sales audits and valet parking survey, Development Services and other departments are saying: Just exactly what are you talking about?? We have no such documents on file. Now go away and leave us alone!

It ain't about the WE, it's about the HER

The LGNA newsletter - which is usually mistaken for litter on the front step - made its way to the Dog Pound and other houses in the area.

The National Night Out story closes with an invitation for participants to plan for the 2007 event - they reserved the park before BD could.

BD just loves the paragraph after the invite...

It's not abut ME, it's about WE. It's OUR neighborhood. Let's come together to make it safer and even more enjoyable.

This WE and ME stuff is coming right out of NSA Hunt's office.
