The misdeeds, missteps and misbehavings of our elected representatives (and occasionally the good things they do)

Visualizing whirled peas at City Hall

When NSA Hunt is not trying to cover the collective butts of her supporters in LGNA or the DHL, she is - we hope - hard at work at City Hall misrepresenting District 14.

While it's not an ivory tower, and the $37,000 per year salary - no benefits or tax deductions - ain't much to write home about, our city council representatives do get the chance to lobby our elected officials in Austin on issues of immense importance to them and their district, as well as the whole city.

So when the DMN posted the City's 2006 wish-list, BD was anxious to see what our reps were thinking about.

Before we tell you about NSA's priority issue, it's important to ask yourself one question:

Just what were you thinking way back last May when you pushed the ballot button for her?

Thank goodness, it's still politics as usual at City Hall

Way down deep in the City Hall basement, secure in his waterproof bunker, sits a city employee we call Deep in the Basement, or DB. He only comes up for air to attend City Council meetings.

And when something catches DB's eye, he sends his observations to BD (and his email does not travel through the City's network, unlike some DPD officers we know).

Hello, I'm from City Hall and I'm here to help you. Not!

Instead of getting aggressive on Lower Greenville, Hunt wants City Staff to fix the problems they helped create

Dallas City Council Member Angela Hunt has put the parking space/patio conversion proposal in a holding pattern while City Staff tries to untie the knot they created on Lower Greenville Avenue.

We can only hope she includes the people who live out here in the war-zone and not folks from LGNA who could not find Lower Greenville without a map or police escort.

Mandatory towing for uninsured drivers would exempt South Dallas residents

New proposal includes special ID card for uninsured motorists in Districts 1 and 8

According to a reported published last week in the DMN, Mayor Laura Miller is proposing that uninsured drivers involved in accidents would have their vehicle towed straight to the pound (link). This policy is already in effect in Arlington, DeSoto, Haltom City, Irving, Mesquite, Plano and Rockwall County.
