City Attorney won't release Suede's audit documents - yet

It took nearly six months for Suede to submit the documents demanded by the City Auditor last December that would be used to determine whether they are operating as a bar or restaurant. The stall was an effort to keep BD and others from seeing what they considered confidential sales data.

BD filed an Open Records Request on the documents a few weeks ago. And now the City has punted the documents for review by the Texas Attorney General.

DPD confirms: LGNA Crimewatch made it all up

DPD officials confirmed to BD Monday afternoon they did not tell Darren Dattalo, coordinator of the so-called LGNA Crimewatch, that the March 15th rape at Lllano and Greenville was committed by a homeless person or that he was or was not a predator.

BD spoke to DPD officials in Central Division, as have many other residents, about this statement sent to LGNA's very small and controlled Crimewatch list.

Frankly, this was a homeless person who saw an opportunity and grabbed it.

The police don't have any reason to believe this was a predator out looking for someone to rape but they can't rule that out either.

Delayed rape incident notification raises questions about LGNA's nonchalant attitude, DPD procedures

It's not only LGNA's nonchalant and demeaning response to the reported rape, but also the details and circumstances that have been fed piecemeal to public by LGNA's so-called Crimewatch and the Dallas Police Department. (see Homeless person sought for in Greenville Avenue rape).

Everyone knows that finding a parking spot on Lower Greenville is tough any weekend. But what if you are a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff working off-duty at a bar and want a free parking space at the restaurant across the street?

That's easy: You tell the restaurant manager your truck can't be towed from their parking lot because you have weapons stored in your vehicle. Then you walk across the street and work your off-duty $35-an-hour gig guarding a bar full of gangbangers.
