Update on victim of Lush drunk driver attack

Earlier this month, BD posted a story about Lower Greenville resident Justin Leger, who was struck and nearly killed by a drunk patron leaving Lush after the Fat Tuesday celebration (he was captured a mile away).(Underage and drunk Lush patron slams pedestrian with truck, March 2)

Justin's friends have been blogging about his progress - or to be honest, the lack of any - while he is recovering at Baylor Medical Center Dallas. BD is posting a letter from Justin's family to his friends to this website.

Maybe this qualifies as a crime trend?

On their 6pm Friday newscast, WFAA News8 reported the DPD is searching for one robber who hit four businesses - three near Lower Greenville - within the past three days.

The story is not on their website yet, but here are the basic details:

A black male wearing a dark sweatshirt hooded sweatshirt with white stripes robbed the 7-11 on Greenville @ Penrose (near Gloria's), the donut shop at Skillman @ Mockingbird (next to the Domino's Pizza) and the CVS Pharmacy across the street.

He is also tied to a robbery of a fast-food restaurant on Forest Lane near Central Expressway.

More details as we get them...

Two TABC agents walk into a scumbar...

Have you heard the one about the TABC agents on Lower Greenville?

Two TABC agents walk into a Lower Greenville scumbar and order a couple Shirley Temples.

The bartender looks them over and says, We don't see too many TABC agents around here.

The first agent says, Yeah, we've been busy in Irving.

The second agent says, Don't worry, you'll be seeing us more often.

It's time to play "How many drunks can we fit in a cage?"

BD was called on the carpet (that is how you train dogs, right?) by an LGNA officer about this posting and our email. Per the officer, 20 volunteers worked to put the signs out before the deadline of 10 am, and the neighborhood was blanketed by flyers telling everyone how parking would be managed.

While BD appreciates the call, we also stand by our own sources, the folks who called BD to tell him there were no signs on their streets nor had they seen any printed flyers or maps telling them what was happening where.
